Garmin is pleased to announce the Garmin Wi-Fi adapter. This Wi-Fi adapter will allow GPSMAPreg; 4000, 5000, 6000,7000 series owners to enjoy wireless connectivity with their Applereg; iPadreg;, iPhonereg; and iPodreg; using the Garmin BlueChart Mobile app (purchased separately from the Apple App Store153;)185;. With the Garmin Wi-Fi Adapter and Garmin BlueChart

Mobile, mariners can now remotely plan and create routes, mark their favorite waypoints and wirelessly transfer that data totheir networked Garmin chartplotter. Once underway, the Garmin Wi-Fi Adapter will also allow the Apple device to be used to "follow the boat" along its route by wirelessly sharing the GPS location from the Garmin marine network. This is the mostaccurate way for passengers to see the boats progress and position from anywhere on the boat when the Apple devicesassisted-GPS is unavailable.

This kit includes a household AC power-over-Ethernet (POE) adapter. If users are unable to use the included adapter on the boat, they must purchase a POE adapter that supplies 12-15 Vdc and 0.8 A.
